Bath Time

Brielle loves her baths. Whenever she is grumpy we just dip her in the tub (sink) and turn that frown upside down. She has almost out grown her little tub. She is growning so fast. So we decided to try out the sink this time.
Brielle is now 4 1/2 months old. She weighs 14 lbs, 12 oz. and is 25 1/2 inches long. Tuesday she rolled over for the first time on her own and also learned how to scoot on her belly from one end to other in her crib. Time for bumper pads! She likes to suck her thumb and bottom lip.

Brielle's first 4th of July celebration!

This 4th of July weekend we went to Manti for the Freedom Festival. It was a fun weekend full of activities. The morning of the 4th, Jeremy, Josalyn, Danny, Kim and Tom ran the 5K for the festival. Jeremy improved on his time by about 3 minutes. He is getting faster each time he runs. Later that day, Brielle was in the Freedom Festival Fashion Show with her cousins at the city park, where all the main events take place. It was fun to relax and eat snow cones and navajo tacos with the family. To get out of the heat we went to Palisades State Park and swam . The water was quite cool, but it felt good in the 100 degree heat. At night we watched the fireworks over the Manti High School's football field. Brielle liked the big fireworks, but not so much the little ones we did at the house the night before. The next day Jeremy, Brielle and I headed to Maple Canyon yo meet up with Danny, Josalyn and Wesley for a little bouldering and hiking. We hiked to the waterfall and had a nice picnic in the canyon. Later that night we met up with the family for dinner and Jeremy was talked into helping his brother and nephews brand their calves. It was the first time I had seen branding done. It was very tiring for the men, but Sharron and I really enjoyed the show. -Heidi

Keep swimming, swimming, swimming -Dori

I thought I would give you an update on Brielle. She is getting so big! She will be 4 months on the 10th, I can hardly believe it! Last Saturday Jeremy and I took her swimming for the first time. I have been trying to find her a swimming suit, but I am afraid we started looking too late, for most stores are sold out of her size. A friend of mine bought her one that is 9 mos in size. We tried it on her just to see how much bigger it was and to our suprise it fit her perfectly. She is not in 9 mos clothing, but the suit must run a little smaller. Brielle loved her first pool experience. I thought maybe she would be too cold since it is a lot cooler than her bath water, but she shivered only a few times. She didn't even cry when other kids splashed her.

This week my mother and I also took her to her first movie; Narnia II. She did very well there too. She only cried once when Lucy screamed, but only for a minute and the theatre was so loud, I don't think anyone else heard her. It was a matinee and so there weren't very many in the theatre. Unfortunately I forgot a binkie, so she gave me a hickie on my arm while watching the movie. I think the war scenes were a little intense for her. The rest of the movie she was glued to the screen. -Heidi

Stone World Update

I am still in the process of recovering from my stone adventure, but for the most part am back to normal. Yesterday I had my stent removed and even though the nurses said I would feel much better afterwards, I felt miserable! The doctor mentioned right at the end of the visit that I would have some cramping and spasms. Wish they would have mentioned that earlier! I barely made it to the sitter to pick up Brielle and home before it all set in. I felt like I was at the beginning again and would have to rush to the ER for relief. I took some pain meds, but they didn't work for quite a while. Thankfully Jeremy rushed home from work to help me out. Everyone keeps welcoming me to the "Stone World," but I pray I never have this experience again. I wouldn't wish a stone upon anyone! -Heidi
