An Unexpected Delivery

On November 5th I went to my weekly doctor visit and stress test. My sweet sister-in-law Kim comes every Wednesday to watch Landon while I go to my appointments and to help me around the house. She has been a huge help and blessing!! On the 5th we had decided to prepare some freezer crockpot meals I can dump in any time I need a meal after the twins arrive. I left my doctor appointment with everything going well. I headed to Macey's to pick up the groceries I needed for the dump meals, and arrived home around noon. We had lunch and I put Landon down for his nap. As I rocked Landon and read him a book I started feeling some contractions and when I came back into my kitchen, I noticed that I needed to sit down for a breather. Kim had started chopping veggies and preparing the bags for the meals, but encouraged me to take a break. I felt so guilty sitting on my tush while she was making my dinners! But the contractions did not stop and they increased in intensity which was making Kim very nervous and me too! I have never gone into labor on my own so I did not think it was really happening. Kim started timing my contractions and writing them down. I called Jeremy at work and told him that I was having some contractions and they weren't the Braxton hicks kind-just to let him know. We continued monitoring as Kim kept making the meals. After an hour of contractions that were getting closer in time Kim suggested I call my doctor.
Sister Kim timing my contractions with her phone.
They told me that I needed to go to the hospital and have them monitor the contractions. I called Jeremy back (around 3:20pm) and told him what the doctor had said. I also told him that I could wait until he was off work at 4pm to go. He was home 10 min later :). We called our parents & family just to let them know. Kim kindly said she would stay with our children until we knew what was going to happen and we headed to the hospital. We were in a triage room watching the Jazz game on mute (the hospital didn't have a good channel for watching the game-it was ll fuzzy) while having the contractions monitored. Jeremy headed to the cafeteria to get dinner and soon after the nurse came in and said that these contractions are some major contractions and after consulting with my doctor they decided that these babies were coming tonight. I looked at her in unbelief since I am a planner and this was not part of the plan (being only 35 weeks & 4 days) and also I thought they would give me some drugs to stop the contractions and send me home. I was wrong. The nurse said you just keep denying it and I will get the doctors ready. She was an awesome nurse! So at 8:30pm we headed to the operating room (because I am a repeat c-section kind of patient) and at 8:53 the doctor announced it was cut time. At 9:01pm Savannah Marjorie was born and at 9:02pm Whitney Loa was born. It was the quickest c-section for twins the nurses had ever seen. Whitney had swallowed quite a bit of fluid and was having trouble breathing so they took her to NICU. We did not see her again until the next day when we were allowed to go in and see her and feed her. It was so scary not knowing what was happening with her. She remained in NICU for another day and then arrived to newborn unit at midnight on the 6th. I was so happy to have her with us and with her sister. I was so drained from traveling to the NICU and back and doing double feeding and cuddle times. Most of our family only met Savannah in the hospital. Savannah weighed 5 lbs 3 ounces and Whitney weighed 5lbs, 2 ounces. Both were 17 1/2 inches long. They already like to be just like the other.

Brielle and Landon coming to visit and meeting Savannah-kids were not allowed in the NICU.
They were also sick and had to wear masks for almost a week after we came home.

Cute Big Brother and Sister!!

I love this picture of Brielle and Savannah. Brielle looks so grown up & beautiful!

Whitney in her Daddy's hands. So tiny!!
We are so excited to have them join our family. We are all in love and can't get enough of them! Thank you again Kim for all your help!! It was so nice not having to worry about our first two children while we delivered our last two.

Halloween at our home

Taffyta & Werewolf!
Brielle started out wanting to be Vanellope Von Schweetz from Wreck it Ralph and Landon was happy to be Ralph, but as it drew closer to Halloween both of them changed their minds. Brielle became Taffyta from Wreck it Ralph or aka "the mean blonde girl" as Brielle kept telling everyone.

Here is our scary Werewolf! Jeremy did an awesome job turning our Savor's finds into a great costume! Landon loved scaring everyone. Brielle and I just kept telling him how cute he looked~which he didn't like. "I'm not cute, I'm SCARY!" He'd say, and then growl at us!
I dressed as Prego for the Halloween party
Landon loved the pinata part of the party. Brielle started to not feel so well so
he didn't play much that night.
As you can see her not-so-feel-good mood extended into Halloween night also.
Jeremy took the kids while I stayed home to pass out candy. Brielle made it to about 3 houses before coming home to soak in a bath and watch movies. She was so sad to miss out on trick-or-treating. Landon was happy to share his candy-such a nice brother!
One trip around the block and Landon was happy with his night of trick-or-treating. He still can't stop telling us about the skeleton guy that scared him on someones porch. Here he is waiting for more trick or treaters to come to our door so he can help pass out candy.

Sunday Drive through Guardsman's Pass

We took the kids on a Sunday drive up Guardsman's and found some paragliders flying above. We even got to see them land. It was very exciting and looked like lots of fun! It was a beautiful fall day for a drive. Wish we could have done it sooner and seen some of the pretty colors of fall up the mountains. We were a little late for that and got the dead brown instead.
Looks like I am ready to burst! This was one of the few pictures of me pregnant with the twins.
And it's even a side view. Yikes! I do remember my hips hurting so bad on this drive-just being in the car for too long. It felt good to get out and walk around. Of course not long after I got out I had to use the restroom so I went back to sitting in the car until everyone was ready to go.

We came down into Park City and found a fun park to play at and have our picnic. I love these days with my family. Listening to music as we drive, being in the mountains and just spending good quality time with the kids. Also glad we got to do this before the twins arrive.
My daredevil son~ He's not afraid on heights one bit! It made his Mama worry though!

Trip to the dentist

Both Landon and Brielle were so brave at the dentist!
They took x-rays and all without needing my help! I am so proud of them!
They got to watch Wreck-It Ralph while getting their teeth cleaned.

New Room and New Beds!!

I have been trying to make this happen for quite some time now, but I finally found some bunk beds on KSL and finally got their room all done to put them in! Brielle is moving over to Landon's room so that the twins can have her room (super sweet-I know! Not that she had much of a choice-we needed the bigger room).
I painted a pink stripe to go with the other green, blue and brown ones already on Landon's wall to make it a little more gender neutral. Cleaned out all the baby stuff, and moved all of her stuff in. They are both loving their new bed and change to be roommates. Hopefully it stays that way!

I am now working on a play room for all their toys. It is so nice to not have their bedrooms crowded with toys! I will reveal those pictures as soon as I am done-just about there. It is a surprise for my kids too!

Girl's weekend away

This is the view from our Condos in Eden. My mom and I went up there to get away and just let me have some time to myself (and my mom) without kids before these next two come along. We watched movies, went to the hot tub (I put my feet in), we played a game of tether ball. Went shopping at some boutiques, drove around the beautiful towns of Huntsville and Liberty, had some great BBQ and played games. May not sound like a lot, but that was the point. I was able to relax and just do whatever we wanted.
The last day on our way home we stopped in Ogden for a street fair, where we shopped and had lunch before coming home. I haven't ever really spent much time in Ogden, but really enjoyed it. They have painted horses all over town and also painted pianos that you can just sit down and play on street sides and corners. It was fun to get out and see some new sights. There were also stars from the Sy-Fy channel in town at Union Station, doing their paranormal stuff. They sat next to us at lunch.

Lando's 3rd Birthday Party at the Lake!

We celebrated at the Lake with Shark and Fish cupcakes as well as many friends and family
It was so windy he hardly had enough time to blow out his candle.

 Opening presents!!
 Play time in the sand!

Not the greatest picture, but the next day (his actual birthday), after church we sang to him again and let him blow out some candles. I also brought special treats (swedish fish) for his class in Nursery.

First day of 1st Grade!

I can't believe we have a first grader!!
Brielle is such a fun active little girl, who loves to play with lots of friends! She is so beautiful and I can't believe she is my little girl! All grown up! Landon and I will sure miss her while she is at school!
She was so excited to wear her Twinkle Toe Shoes

Missing her two front teeth! Hopefully they are in before Christmas!

Have to have one silly picture! I couldn't get Landon to get in one.
